Progress

Welcome back, friend. Between Covid and the weather and just the general state of things, a lot is happening in the world, so I’m sending you extra love and positive vibes. And I'm keeping this post brief.

My week has been pretty good. I’ve been playing virtual games of Settlers of Catan. Probably too many games. Especially because I haven’t done as much writing. Or working out.

But I have been taking time for yoga sessions. And meeting with my weekly writing group. Thanks to one person in that group, I discovered a timeline in which to place Cicada. That discovery, combined with what I've learned from Save the Cat! Writes a Novel, is really firing me up to get writing.

Plus, my monthly writing group met tonight. These are people I’ve had the privilege of getting to know and whose work I've been getting to read for just over a year now. They are talented and funny and just all around wonderful. Inspired by the pieces they have shared and the camaraderie we've been enjoying, I’ve said I’m going to prepare pages for our meeting next month.

Which means it's writing time.

If I accomplish nothing else over the next seven days, I’ll at least have an initial list of organized scenes. Anything more is bonus writing.
